In Search Of Agreements With Airlines To Bring More Japanese and Italian Tourists To La Paz

Eduardo Herrera,  The president of the Association of Hotel and Tourism Companies (Emprhotur), said that the municipality expects a number of projects with Aeromexico and Volaris airlines in order that more Italian and Japanese tourists arrive at the destination.

In this regard, the official said that when the route Los Angeles-La Paz was canceled, which allowed direct access from Asia and Europe, a fall of up to 15% of hotel occupancy by foreign visitors, who mainly came from Japan reported .

However, domestic enterprises Aeromexico and Volaris are interested in flying these visitors in different national destinations, he said.

“We are hoping that international flights are realized, because we want to move from Mexico City all Japanese and Italian toursits to La Paz. This type of tourists do many water and adventure sports, besides having longer stay at the destination, “he said.

Likewise, the holder of Emprhotur said that with the start of Cross Border Xpress, located at the International Airport of Tijuana, Baja California, in which they can make direct connections from La Paz to Tijuana and from the border with the rest of destination which operate from the San Diego International Airport, it is expected to increase tourist arrivals to the capital of the southern peninsula.

“We have contemplated  it will increase tourism with the opening of binational airport; but we believe we can significantly expand the number of American visitors that can now take as a hub the airport and then enter Tijuana, Baja California Sur, “he concluded.
